Obituary of Maureen Murray
On March 8th, 2011, Maureen Ann Elizabeth Murray passed away in her home. Maureen is survived by her mother Mary Jane, predeceased by her father George Murray, and survived by her daughter Jennifer Vidas, Jennifer's husband John Vidas, her sister Patricia Murray, her brother, James Murray, James' wife Jodie L. Murray, and their sons, Tyler Colon-Murray, and Ryan Murray, her sister Elizabeth Hendrickson, Elizabeth's husband Mark Hendrickson, their daughter Shannon Hendrickson, and her Footit and Murray aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A 1974 graduate from East Catholic High School, Maureen led an active life outside of work by donating her free time to the Historical Society, the Toastmasters, St. James Parish, and S&B. Born in Manchester, Connecticut, Maureen moved to Brockton Massachusetts, enjoying a long career with the United States Postal Service. After taking a disability leave from the postal service, Maureen returned to home to be closer to her family and to pursue a career with Bank of America.
Funeral service will be held on Monday (March 14th) at 9:15 am from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at St. James Church 896 Main St. Manchester followed by burial in St. James Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Manchester Historical Society will be accepted.
