Obituary of Santi Regina

Santi S. Regina (Anthony), was welcomed into the loving arms of his daughter, Diane in heaven on February 26, 2011. Born in Edgewater, Alabama on January 2, 1926, his family later moved to Hartford CT. As a young man Santi fought in WWII for the United States in both Germany and the Philippines. When he returned home from war, he met his wife, Antoinette (Matarazzo) and began a family, and they later made their home in Manchester, CT. Santi spent many years employed by The Stanadyne Corporation in Windsor CT. During his retirement years he enjoyed cooking and spending time with his family and watching the Boston Red Sox, as well as taking care of his cats "Jamie" and "Amy". Santi is pre-deceased by his beloved daughter, Diane Regina Booth his parents, Giuseppe and Francesca (Salerno) Regina, his brothers: Tommy and Frank Regina, and his sisters Lena Insolia Bradt Savelli, Lucy Gagnon, and Helen Carlson, and his niece Linda Jaskulski. The love and respect Santi had for his family and friends knew no boundaries, especially the love and adoration he had for his wife of over 61 years, Antoinette. Santi also leaves his son, Joseph Regina of New York and his granddaughters, Andrea Booth, Kelly (Booth) Cummings, and Kimberly Booth, of CT whom he referred to as his little "chickadees." and smallest of his "chickadees," Autumn Rose, his great granddaughter who bought him much joy. Santi always had room in his heart and his home as his family grew. In addition to his wife, son, and granddaughters, he leaves his grandsons in law, James Chidester and Timothy Cummings, as well as Joseph MacMenamin and Kenneth Booth, whom he loved and welcomed as sons. Santi will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors, in particular his niece Paula (Jaskulski) Gumlaw, whom he loved like a daughter over the years. The Regina family would like to thank all the family, neighbors, and friends whom over the years have offered their support to both Santi and Antoinette. No words can describe the love and respect that Santi felt for all of you. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday (March 1st) at 9:15 am from the John F.
