Donald R. Cowles, 95, of Manchester, the husband of Dorothy (O'Brien) Cowles died Wednesday (December 15, 2010) at his home. Born in Hartford he was the son of the late William F. and Edith Cowles, and had lived in Manchester for many years. Besides his wife he is survived by his daughter Donna Sypeck of Ellington; his grandchildren Patty Phillips and her husband Russell of Ashford, and Christopher Sypeck of Tolland; and his great-granddaughter Madison. He is also survived by his sister Barbara Foran of Andover and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held on Saturday (December 18th) at 9 am at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester followed by burial in Rose Hill Memorial Park. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4-7 pm.
