Obituary of Larry Pietrantonio
Larry A. Pietrantonio, 57, of Coventry, husband of Hannah (Grupe) Pietrantonio, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday November 23rd 2010 at Manchester Memorial Hospital.
Larry was born on September 7th, 1953 in Iron Mountain Michigan, the son of the late Anthony "Tony" and Dolores (DeFiore) Pietrantonio. Larry attended East Catholic High School in Manchester class of 1971; he went on to Michigan Technological University in Houghton Michigan graduating in 1975. He was the owner and operator of Prestige Printing Corp. of Manchester CT, alongside his brother Gene Pietrantonio. A proud community activist, Larry served as both a member and Chairman of the Coventry Board of Education since 1997. A Coventry resident since 1984, supporting public education, school activities, and school building endeavors were many of Larry's accomplishments. He loved cooking for his family and friends and summer's at Columbia Lake.
Larry was a loving husband, father, brother and friend to all who knew him. In addition to his wife of 30 years, he is survived by his beloved daughters, Emma and Molly; brother Gene and wife Debra (Kershaw) Pietrantonio, brother-in-law John and wife Betsy Grupe, nephews and nieces Kyle and Jay Pietrantonio, Sarah and Christopher Grupe. He also leaves many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family on Tuesday November 30th for calling hours from 4-8pm, at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center Street Manchester CT. A memorial mass will be held on Wednesday December 1st at 11am at St. Mary's Church, 1600 Main Street Coventry CT.
