Sheila Ann O'Brien (Pickett), 76, of Manchester peacefully passed away on October 1, 2010 at Riverside in East Hartford. Sheila was the daughter of the late Joseph and Helen (Crowley) O'Brien and sister to Michael. She grew up in Hartford, Gardner, MA, and was a graduate of Manchester High, class of 1954. A proud nurse, Sheila graduated in 1957 from the St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing where she was treasured for her ability to make people happier by simply being in their company. Sheila lived for many years in Southington where she was active in local organizations and was a founding parishioner of Saint Dominics Church, a community of warmth and love she always held dear. Sheila is survived by four of her children--MaryEllen Lavalette, Edward Pickett, Kevin Pickett, and Maureen Pickett--and her granddaughters Shauna, Megan, and Kathleen. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 7, 2010 beginning with a viewing at 10 am at John F.
