Obituary of Florence Roberts

Florence P. Roberts, 85, of Manchester the wife of 58 years to the late Frank Roberts Jr. died Thursday (September 30, 2010) at her home. Born in Meriden, she had lived in Manchester for many years. Florence enjoyed golfing and was a member of Manchester Country Club. She was also an avid bridge player, enjoyed the theatre and had a special love for UCONN Women's Basketball. A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, she is survived by her children Richard Roberts and his wife Janet of Harleysville, PA, Susan Wojtkun and her husband Dr. Peter Wojtkun of Georgetown, MA, Nancy Phelan of Simsbury and dear friend Tom Juknis of South Winsor, and David Roberts and his wife Victoria of Clinton, CT; eight grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; her brother Ermen Pallanck and his wife Anna Mae of Union, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband she was predeceased by her sisters, Lena Begley, Anna Logoyke, and Erma Pallanck. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 am Monday (October 4th) at St. James Church 896 Main St. Manchester followed by burial in St. James Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center Street Manchester on Sunday from 3-6 pm.
