Obituary of Leonora DuBaldo
Leonora "Eleanor" DuBaldo, 89, beloved wife and sweetheart of Peter J. DuBaldo, passed away early Sunday morning, (July 4, 2010). The daughter of Frank and Mary (Zagorska) Haraburda, Eleanor was a life long resident of Manchester, CT with winter stops the past 20 years at St. Pete Beach, Florida. In addition to Peter, her loving husband of 64 years, she is survived by her daughters, Kathleen and her husband Gerry Sullivan of South Windsor, Anne Marie and her husband David Rechel of Ashford, Lenore DuBaldo of Tulsa, OK, Mary Ellen and her husband Ernie Robert of Newington; also her son, Edward and his wife Donna (her fifth daughter), a sister-in-law Rose Haraburda; and numerous, wonderful, loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Frank Haraburda Jr, 1st Lieutenant Edward Haraburda, her sisters Julia Sauer, Anne Comstock, and Alice Nicol. Eleanor wanted everyone to know that they are loved deeply, especially by God. She wished to tell her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren how proud she was of each one of them, and if they see something in life that isn't right, try to help make it right. A graduate of St Francis School of Nursing, Eleanor served briefly as Head Nurse of Pediatrics at Manchester Memorial Hospital before she and Peter began their own baby ward. Calling hours will be Tuesday 4 to 8 at the Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center Street, Manchester. A funeral Mass celebrating her life will be held at St. Bridget Church, 80 Main Street, Manchester, CT on Wednesday at 10 a.m. with a procession from Tierney Funeral Home at 9:15. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Eleanor's memory to St. Bridget Church; or to Daughters of St. Mary of Providence, Attn: Sr RoseMary Bell, 4208 North Austin Ave, Chicago II 60634; or to Freedom Ministries, P.O. Box 423, Manchester, CT 06045; or a charity of the donor's choice.
