Obituary of Anthony DiDonato

Anthony J. "Tony" DiDonato, 87, the husband of the late Dorothy (Slater) DiDonato died on Saturday (May 1, 2010) at St. Francis Hospital. Born in Hartford the son of Michael and Christina (Gallinotto) DiDonato he had lived in Hartford for most of his life. He was a US Army veteran of World War II. Tony retired from Futuramik Industries and had formerly been employed at Royal Typewriter and later owned and operated Dot's Corner Store. He was an avid Yankee fan and a member of the East Side Boy's in Hartford. Tony is survived by his siblings Catherine Hamel of CA, Lucy Dolgoruck of Wethersfield, Stella Rzewnicki of Hartford, Joseph "Yogi" DiDonato of Hartford and John DiDonato of Manchester and his many friends at the Emanuel House of Hartford. He was also predeceased by his siblings Thomas DiDonato, Minnie Granelo, Millie Dominick, Dan DiDonato, Rocco DiDonato and Concetta "Chick" Steullet. Family and friends may call at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester on Friday (5/7) from 2-4 & 6-8. Family and friends are requested to go directly to St. Patrick St. Anthony Church 285 Church St. Hartford to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 on Saturday to be followed by burial in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill.
