Leonard C. Grupe, Jr., 84, of Manchester the husband of the late Mary (Gallaher) Grupe passed away peacefully on Friday (April 30, 2010) with his family by his side. Born in Philadelphia, PA the son of the late Leonard, Sr. and Freida Grupe he had lived in Manchester since 2007. Len was a US Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific theater and retired in 1996 as a North East Contract Sales Manager for Barret Carpet. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Hannah and Larry Pietrantonio of Coventry and his granddaughters Emma and Molly, his son and daughter-in-law John and Betsy Grupe of Coventry and his grandchildren Sarah and Christopher and his many friends at The Arbors. Len's family would like to thank the staffs of Laurel Gardens, VNA of East Hartford and Manchester Manor for their care and support. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 on Saturday (5/8) at the Emanuel Lutheran Church 60 Church St. Manchester.
