Obituary of William Smyth

William T. Smyth, III, 59, of Manchester, husband of Jennifer (Powell) Smyth, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, March 2, 2010, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 31, 1950, son of the late William T. and Mildred (Hennequin) Smyth. Bill was a graduate of Manchester Community College and the University of New Haven. He was a member of Trinity Covenant Church where he served as a Sunday school teacher, usher, member of the Christian education Commission, and on the Diaconate. He was a member of the Fellowship of Christian Magicians, Society of American Magicians and International Brotherhood of Magicians. He brought his children and family magic show to many organizations throughout the state. He was one of the owners of the Studio of Magic in Rocky Hill, CT. Bill volunteered for many years with the Insurance Clubs Entertainment Bureau, which brought a variety show to many convalescent homes in the Greater Hartford area. He also volunteered at the Connecticut Children's Medical Center bringing magic to the children in the emergency room. Besides his wife Jennifer, he is survived by his son William T. Smyth IV, and his wife, Monica, of Philadelphia, PA, and his daughter Jessica Elizabeth, of Vernon, CT.; two brothers, Stephen J. Smyth, and his wife Wendy, of Manchester, James E. Smyth, and his wife Selena, of East Hartford; his sister Janice A. Smyth, of Manchester; three nieces, Laura Larson, and her husband Jim , Kelly Allard, and her husband Nick, and Jordan Smyth; five nephews, Jason Smyth, and his wife, Jennifer, Shaun Smyth, Bobby Reed, Nicholas Smyth, and Ryan Reed; three great-nephews, Jakob, Matthew and Jonah. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Covenant Church, 302 Hackmatack St., Manchester, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Camp Squanto Scholarship Fund in care of Trinity Covenant Church, 302 Hackmatack St., Manchester, CT 06040. The John F.
