Obituary of Ronald Slomcinsky

Ronald P. Slomcinsky, 58, of Manchester, the husband of Bonnie (Traynor) Slomcinsky died Thursday December 31, 2009 at Hartford Hospital. He was the son of Stanley and Mildred Slomcinsky of Vernon. Ronald received his bachelor's degree from Central Connecticut State University, and was employed as a meat cutter at Crown Supermarket, West Hartford. He was a volunteer fireman for the Manchester Eighth Utilities District. Always very active with Manchester youth sports he was a past-president of Manchester Midget Football, coached and umpired with Manchester Little League, and volunteered for both the boys and girls basketball teams at Manchester High School. He also volunteered at the Nutmeg State Games and was an announcer at the Manchester Silkworms baseball games. Besides his wife and parents, he is survived by his children, Adam Michael, Meghan Elizabeth, and Daniel John Slomcinsky all of Manchester, his brothers Stanley Slomcinsky Jr. of PA, Janet Armata and her husband Todge of South Windsor, and Donald Slomcinsky and his wife Terri of AZ. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and "My Kids" Kenzie, Kayleigh, and Freud. He was predeceased by his sister-in-law Cynthia Slomcinsky. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday (January 5th) at 11 am at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Monday from 5-8 pm.
