James J. Gorman, Sr., 72, of East Hartford formerly of Manchester, died Saturday December 19, 2009 at Riverside Healthcare Center. Born in Manchester the son of the late Albert and Dorothy (Simpson) Gorman, he was a longtime resident of Porter St. in Manchester and most recently had lived in East Hartford. He served his country with great pride while in the US Air Force. He was formerly employed by the Reed Construction Company. He was an avid UCONN Women's Basketball and NASCAR fan. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law James Gorman, Jr. and Karen of Manchester, his daughter Jamie Gorman of Manchester, and his granddaughter Ashli of Manchester, his brother Albert Gorman of Manchester and his sister Janet DeCiantis of Vernon. He was predeceased by his sister Margie Gorman McCavanaugh and his brother Robert "Pete" Gorman. A graveside funeral service will be held on Wednesday (December 30th) at 1pm at East Cemetery Manchester with full military honors.
