Elaine M. (Hamel) Hewey, 69, of Enfield formerly of Manchester, the wife of Forrest E. Hewey died Thursday December 17, 2009 at Parkview Hospital in Springfield, MA. Born in Manchester, NH she was the daughter of the late Gerard A. and Mary F. Hamel. Elaine had retired from Manchester Memorial Hospital as an LPN in 1987 and in the following year traveled across the country with her husband. She always had a great fondness for her four legged friends, having had many dogs as pets throughout her life. Besides her husband she is survived by her sisters Mary Oliver and her husband Richard of Stafford, Corrine Reimer of Florida, and her children Daniel G. Daigle of Enfield, Angela Costello and her husband Charles of Hebron, Mitchell F. Daigle of Enfield, Dana Hewey and his wife Mona of East Windsor, Debbie Hewey of Georgia, and Linda Hewey of Waterbury. She is also survived by her grandchildren Jonathan and Emily Costello, and Danielle and Christina Hewey, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sons Lawrence E. Daigle and Justin R. Daigle. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday December 22, 2009 at 11 am at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester followed by burial in St. James Cemetery, Manchester. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 6-8 pm or Tuesday from 10-11 am.
