Maybelle M.(Bessette) Berntsen, 88, the widow of Harold E. Berntsen to whom she was married on February 18, 1939 died Tuesday (December 15, 2009) in Windham. Maybelle was born in Weybridge, VT the daughter of Herbert and Mary (Vincent) Bessette. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law Harold W. and Barbara A. Berntsen of Swanzey, NH and Raymond R. and Diane L. Berntsen of Coventry, three grandsons Jeffery Todd and Teresa Berntsen of Acworth, NH., Kenneth Robert and Deborah Berntsen of Sagle, ID and Raymond William Berntsen and his partner Jenna Kane of Jeffersonville, VT, three great grandchildren Michael, Molly and Amanda Berntsen, her sister Theresa Bessette Berntsen of Manchester and numerous nieces and nephews. Maybelle was predeceased by three brothers and two sisters. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 on Friday (12/18) at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester with the Rev. Bruce Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Center Cemetery, Coventry. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 6-8.
