John E. Murphy, Sr., 95, of Manchester, the husband of the late Anna Murphy died Sunday November 29, 2009 at his home. Born in Manchester, he was a lifelong resident. John was a member of the Teamsters who had retired after 25 years of service as a driver salesman with Sunbeam Bread. He is survived by his devoted son John E. Murphy, Jr. and his wife Joanne of Manchester with whom he lived; his grandchildren Brendan Murphy and Shawn Moe and his wife Amara, and his grandson Caden Moe. He is also survived by his brother Frederick Murphy and his wife Dorothy of New Britain, and several niece and nephews. Besides his wife he was predeceased by his daughter Faith Ann Moe and his siblings James, Frances and Margaret. Funeral service will be held Thursday December 3rd at 10:15 am from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center Street Manchester with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am at St. James Church 896 Main St. Manchester followed by burial in St. James Cemetery, Broad St. Manchester.
