Obituary of Clement Lupacchino

Clement (Clem) L. Lupacchino, Sr. entered peacefully into eternal life at the age of 86 on Monday, November 23, 2009 at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Clem was born in Manchester, CT, the son of the late Antonio and Angela Maria (Pontillo) Lupacchino. He was a World War II veteran who served in the Army Air Company as part of the European Theatre of Operations and was stationed in England, France and Belgium. A lifelong resident of Manchester, Clem worked as a meatcutter with Stop and Shop Supermarkets for more than 40 years. He was also employed for many years at Shop Rite of Manchester. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Loretta (Shea) Lupacchino and was a devoted, loving father to his 12 children, Ann Marie Lupacchino of Cambridge, MA; Cathy and Dr Leonard Yost of Lenox, MA; Marsha and Christopher Garlasco of Littleton, CO; Anthony and Cindy Lupacchino of Rocky Hill, CT; Theresa and Darroll Gustamachio of Brewster, MA; Joan Lupacchino of Manchester, CT; Rita and Thomas Donovan of Manchester, CT; John Lupacchino of Manchester, CT; Clement Jr. (Chip) and Erika Lupacchino of Chicago, IL; James and Kathy Lupacchino of Colonial Heights, VA; Daria Lupacchino of Reston, VA; and Marc and Teri Lupacchino of Coventry, CT. He is also survived by his13 loving grandchildren: Mark and Tai Yost, Michael, Danny and JoDee Lupacchino; Katie Gustamachio; Kara and Brian Donovan; David Lupacchino; Erika and Joseph Lupacchino; Nicole and Sarah Lupacchino. Clem also leaves his two brothers, John Lupacchino and his wife Patricia of Manchester, CT and Anthony Daniel Lupacchino and his wife Joan of Meriden, CT and one sister, Betty McKeen of New Orleans, LA, as well as a special, longtime family friend, Elaine Harrington of Cambridge, MA and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one brother, Joseph and three sisters, Mary, Frances and Philomena. The Lupacchino family would like to extend their thanks and deep appreciation to all those who cared for their father especially, The Manchester Fire Rescue EMS Department, Crestfield Nursing Home Staff on TCU1 and TCU2, the nurses on 3 North at Manchester Memorial Hospital, the staff from the Hospice & Palliative Care of the Visiting Nurse & Health Services of Connecticut. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday (11/28) at 10:00 at St. Bridget Church, Manchester. We invite those who wish to attend the church service to go directly to St Bridget Church 80 Main Street Manchester, CT. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Family and friends may call at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester on Friday from 4-8.
