Obituary of Bernice Woodbury

Bernice (Keevers) Woodbury, 96, wife of the late Charles A. Woodbury died in Manchester on Saturday (November 7, 2009) at Manchester Manor. Bernice was born in Hartford the daughter of Matthew and Amy (Perry) Keevers. She was a graduate of the St. Francis School of Nursing, Class of 1934. She retired from Manchester Memorial Hospital after thirty-nine years of service and was a thirty-five year volunteer for the American Red Cross Blood Bank. Bernice leaves three beloved grandsons Erik D. Woodbury, Scott C. Woodbury and his wife Jessica (Latimer) Woodbury and Greg J. Woodbury and their parents Karen (Woodbury) Keevers and Richard Keevers. She also leaves her sister Leona K. Lavery, her nephew Bruce Lavery and his wife Johan and her nieces Mj Terry and Cheryl Handy and her husband Dick and her best friend Judy Hesselbach. Bernice's family would like to offer a special note of appreciation to the staff of Manchester Manor North 1 for the wonderful care they provided to Bernice. Besides her husband of fifty-nine years ,Charles she was predeceased by her sons David C. Woodbury and Lt. Col. (Retired) Kenneth M. Woodbury and her brother Matthew C. Keevers. Funeral service will be held on Friday (11/13) at 11:00 from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 at the Church of the Assumption, Manchester with burial in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday morning from 10:00 �" 11:00. Memorial donations are requested to be made to the David C.
