Mary C. Lachapelle, 87, the wife of the late Louis G. Lachapelle died on Saturday, January 6, 2018 in Manchester. Born in Island Pond, VT the daughter of Ernest and Lena (Langmaid) Castonguay, she had been a resident of East Hartford for many years. Mary was a Registered Nurse having worked at St. Francis Hospital, in the emergency department for forty-five years. Mary's outside activities included crocheting, knitting and sewing. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Louis and Brenda Lachapelle of East Hartford; her grandchildren Shalina Monty and her husband Mike, Corine Lachapelle and Eric Tereo and Kelsey Lachapelle; her great-grandchildren Anthony and Julia Monty, Taylor Thorton, Ryley, Jordan, and Charlie Tereo and Willow Botticello; her special friend Theresa Chidester and several nieces and nephews. Mary was also predeceased by her brothers Raymond, Peter and Ralph Castonguay. Family and friends may call at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center St., Manchester on Friday January 12th from 5:00-8:00. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday January 13th at 10:00AM at St. Christopher Church, 538 Brewer Street East Hartford, CT 06118. Burial will follow at Mt.
