Obituary of Edward Miller

Edward W. Miller, 90, of East Hartford the husband of the late Salomea (Golen) Miller died Monday (August 10, 2009) at his home. Born in Windsor, he was the son of the late August and Mary Miller. He enjoyed boating, camping, fishing, farming, cooking and most of all spending time with his family and friends. Ed served in the US Navy and was a member of the DAV. Early in his career he was proud to be an East Hartford Police Officer. He also worked for Royal Typewriter, building construction, tractor trailer operator, and was employed by the Town of East Hartford Housing Authority. He owned and operated Eddie's Refreshments in the 1950's and 60's. He is survived by his daughter and her husband Sally and Walter S. Rogers Jr. his granddaughter Cassie Ann Miller, his long time companion Margaret Cerrigione, his brother William G. Miller and his sister Wanda Scuderi. He is also survived by his special cousin Louis Benton, special friends Tony and Alma Leone and several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife he was predeceased by his son Thomas E. Miller and just recently by his cousin Hertha Benton. Ed's family would like to offer a special thanks to VNA Hospice, Hartford, for the compassion and care, especially to Candice, Maria and Victoria. Funeral service will be held on Saturday (August 15th) at 10 am at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester followed by burial in Silver Lane Cemetery, East Hartford.
