Obituary of Normand Best

Normand A. Best, 80, husband of the late Carolyn (Tasse) Best, his dearest friend, passed away on Thursday August 6, 2009 at Hartford Hospital. He was born in Omaha, Nebraska and lived in Connecticut since 1963. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1945 and served in North China and the Marinas Islands with the First Marine Air Wing during WW II. After the war he was employed by Pan American World Airways, as a licensed aircraft mechanic and later became a flight engineer. His last 33 years before retirement, he was employed by Pratt & Whitney Aircraft as a field service representative and later the product support group. Normand is survived by his four children; Leslie and John Larson, Louise and Mike Napoletano, Warren Best, and Allen and JoLynne Best. He is also survived by his seven beautiful grandchildren Carolyn, Laura and Raymond Larson, Nick and Tony Napoletano, and Kelly and Ryan Best. A graveside service with military honors will be held on Monday (August 10th) at 11:30 am at Silver Lane Cemetery, East Hartford. Family and friends may call at the John F.
