Joann Kiniry, 62, of Manchester died Tuesday July 21, 2009 at St. Francis Hospital. Born in Hartford on September 15, 1946 she was the daughter of Ann (Lawton) Kiniry and the late Joseph T. Kiniry. Joann received her bachelor's degree in chemistry from Boston University. She was formerly employed by Hartford Hospital in their Chemistry Lab and more recently as a Database Administrator at Aetna and The Hartford. Joann was a communicant of the Church of the Assumption and a member of the St. James Prayer Group. She loved travel and gardening. Joann was an excellent athlete who enjoyed tennis and was an avid golfer. She especially enjoyed her time with the Blackledge Women's Golf Association. A beloved daughter, sister and aunt, besides her mother she is survived by her siblings Mary Duggan and her fiancé Ted Johnson of Wethersfield, Christopher T. Kiniry and his wife Maureen of Glastonbury, and Kelly Meuser and her husband Christopher of Simsbury; her niece and nephews Shannon Kiniry of Glastonbury, and Christopher and Patrick Meuser of Simsbury and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral service will be held on Friday (July 24th) 10:15 am from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester with a Mass of Christian Burial 11 am at the Church of the Assumption 27 Adams St. South, Manchester followed by burial in St. Mary's Cemetery East Hartford.
