Obituary of James Lacey

James R. Lacey, beloved husband of Irene Fairclough Lacey, died peacefully at home on July 17, 2009. Born in Quincy, MA on November 3, 1936, Jim graduated from Stonehill College in 1959. He served in the Naval Air Reserves and was on active duty in 1961. He worked for American Standard as a sales representative until 1968, when he began working for a manufacturer's representative business, Ray Yost Associates. In years to follow, Jim purchased and grew his business into the successful venture it remains today. A resident of Manchester, CT, Jim enjoyed golf, swimming, biking, skiing, and boating. In addition to his wife, Irene Lacey, he leaves behind a brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Marilyn Lacey, a sister, Elaine Lacey and countless dear friends. He was predeceased by his sister, Jeanne Petrocelli. He also leaves his children, Kathleen O'Neill and her husband Dan, Maureen Lantner and her husband Howard, James F. Lacey and his wife, Lauren and Paula Visgilio and her husband Tim. He was predeceased in 1988 by his daughter Susan Lacey Brown. Jim was also a proud grandfather to Elizabeth, Tim, and Joe O'Neill; Jack and Kate Visgilio; and Rebecca, Jake, Julia, and Rachael Lantner. Visiting hours will be held at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester, on Monday July 20, 2009 from 1:00-3:00 pm and 5:00-7:00 pm. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 9:15 am from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial 10 am at St. James Church 896 Main St. Manchester followed by burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Glastonbury.
