Peter Cascone, 90, of Manchester the husband of Frances (Tanasi) Cascone died Monday (July 6, 2009) at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Born in Cosenza, Italy he had lived in Hartford and East Hartford before moving to Manchester twenty years ago. Pete had retired as the owner of Pete's Barber Shop in Wethersfield. He was an avid bowler having been involved with many leagues. He had a great passion for travel throughout which began at age fourteen when Pete left his home in Hartford to hitchhike across the country to find his relatives California. Besides his wife of fifty-nine years, Frances, he is survived by his children, Patricia Brennan and her husband Brian of Glastonbury, Paula Hannon and her husband William of East Hartford, Pamela Ball and her husband James of Ledyard, and Peter Cascone, Jr. and his wife Holly of East Hartford, and his grandchildren Michelle and Christina Hannon, and Paolo Cascone. He is also survived by his siblings; Loretta Fazzino, Louis Cascone, Ernesta "Betty" Cox, and Concetta Lombardo and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held on Friday July 10th at 9:15 am from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester with a Mass of Christian Burial 10 am at the Church of the Assumption 27 Adams St. South, Manchester followed by burial in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-8 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
