Rev. Martin J. Scholsky, 79, of Manchester died Sunday (July 5, 2009) at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Born in Waterbury he was the son of the late Sigmund and Mary (Wysocki) Scholsky. He graduated high school from St. Thomas Seminary in Bloomfield, continued his college education at St. John's Seminary in Boston and received his Master's degree in Theology from Catholic University in Washington DC. Rev. Scholsky was ordained on January 6, 1956 at St. James Church in Manchester. He was assigned to St. Peter's Church in Hartford, was a professor at St. Thomas Seminary and taught Classical Greek, Latin and Mathematics. Rev. Scholsky was the Diocesan Vocational Office Director at St. Thomas Seminary. He later became the Pastor at St. Bartholomew Church, Manchester and St. Mary's Church, East Hartford from which he retired in 2005. He is survived by his sister, Sister Anthony Mary and his brother and sister-in-law Walter and Marjorie Scholsky, his nieces and nephews, Aileen Scholsky-Reuber, Michael Scholsky, Christine Jaworski, Anthony Jaworski, Michelle Jaworski Lapides, and Grace Jaworski Parrow; and five great-nieces and nephews Daniel Scholsky, Max Westman, Sara Westman, Adam Parrow and Samuel Parrow. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his sister Rita Jaworski and nephew Kevin Scholsky. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday (July 9th) 11 am at St. Mary's Church 15 Maplewood Ave. East Hartford, followed by burial in St. James Cemetery, Manchester. Father Scolsky's body will lie in state at St. Mary's Church on Thursday morning from 10-11. Family and friends may call at the John F.
