Obituary of Leslie Carmel

Leslie D. Carmel, 67, of Manchester the wife of David I. Carmel died Friday (June 12, 2009) with her family by her side at Kimberly Hall North, Windsor. Born in Manchester, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence I. and Dorothy (Rohan) Decker. Leslie had retired from the Aetna Insurance Co. She was a past president of the Newcomers Club, a member of the Hort Society and loved playing bridge with the 5th Wheel Bridge group. She was also an avid gardener and reader, and loved to travel. Besides her husband she is survived by her sons, Christopher Carmel and his wife Pamela of Manchester, and Timothy Carmel and his wife Lynne of Wethersfield; and her grandchildren Matthew and Bryan Carmel, and Sarah and Amanda Carmel. She is also survived by her siblings Dorothy Russell and her husband Irving of Enfield, Lawrence Decker and his wife Barbara of Bristol, and Darrell Decker and his wife Wendy of Harwinton, and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday (June 16th) 10 am at St. James Church, 896 Main St. Manchester. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. The John F. Tierney Funeral Home, Manchester has care of the arrangements.
