Lorraine F. Ellis, 87, of Vernon the wife of the late Raymond H. Ellis died Tuesday May 5, 2009 at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Born in Hartford, she was the daughter of Joseph and Hazel (Gates) Fulton. She was a 1939 graduate of Mt. St. Joseph High School in Hartford, lived most of her life in Manchester, moved to Lakeland, FL in 1994 and returned to Vernon in 2004. After 37 years of employment as bookkeeper at Manchester Hardware she retired in 1994. She was a member of the Manchester Emblem Club, and the Women's Club of Manchester. Lorraine is survived by her grandchildren Kimberly MacVane and her husband David of Saratoga Springs, NY, Kristine Young and her husband Vann of Vernon, and John J. Vichi and his wife Jill of Manchester; and her great-grandchildren David and Dylan MacVane and Jillian E. Vichi. She is also survived by a treasured daughter-in-law and good friend Maria Ellis of Manchester and many friends at the Francis J. Pitkat Congregate Living Center in Vernon. Besides her husband and parents she was predeceased by her children James F. Ellis and Linda Vichi. Lorraine had a great appreciation for the care that she received and her family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Fenwood Manor and Manchester Memorial Hospital.
