John J. Marek, 39, of Lebanon, NH formerly of East Hartford, died Monday April 27, 2009 at Hartford Hospital after a short illness. Born in Springfield, MA he was the son of John A. and Carol A. (Nowakowski) Marek of East Hartford. John was a graduate of East Catholic High School and received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Hartford. He was employed as a Mechanical Engineer at Timken Aerospace in Lebanon, NH. An avid sports fan John especially loved golfing and the New York Yankees. Besides his parents he is survived by his sister Lisa M. Lodge and her husband Scott P. Lodge of Bristol, and his nephews with whom he loved to spend time, Mikey, Ryan and Stevie Lodge. Funeral service will be held on Thursday (April 30th) 10:15 am from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester with a Mass of Christian Burial 11 am at St. Isaac Jogues Church 1 Community Street East Hartford, CT followed by burial in Silver Lane Cemetery.
