Obituary of Ernest Everett

Ernest H. Everett, 70, of Vernon, the husband of the late Dorothy (Mikalauskas) Everett died Thursday, April 9, 2009 at Veteran's Administration Hospital in West Haven. Born in Hanover, NH he was the son of Earle D. Everett of Washington and the late Alice (Brown) Everett. He was an US Army veteran of the Korean War and was the former owner of Goldhamer's Package Store in Madison, CT. He is survived by his loving daughters, Dawn A. Pelletier and her husband Paul of Tolland, Kim A. Lajoie and her husband Kevin of Vernon, and Kelly P. Everett of Vernon; his grandchildren, who were the love of his life, Kaitlyn and Connor Lajoie, and Kyle and Alex Pelletier. He is also survived by his brother John A. Everett of Washington, his sister Flora Gerber of Arizona, his brother-in-law Kenneth Mikalauskas of Vernon and many nieces and nephews. Besides his mother he was predeceased by his brother Earle T. Everett. He absolutely treasured the many laughs he had with his cribbage buddies �" Skip, Dexter and Larry. He had many lifelong special friends whom he loved dearly. He looked forward to his trips to Washington to see his father with our beloved family friend Susan. He was an avid bowler over the years and had many fond memories of Sunday bowling. He truly enjoyed the time he spent with Connor, Kaitlyn, Kyle, Alex and "his girls" �" who will miss him dearly. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday (April 15th) at 10:15 am from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center St., Manchester with a Mass of Christian Burial, 11 am at St. Bridget Church, 80 Main St., Manchester followed by burial in East Cemetery Manchester. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-8 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the VA Connecticut Healthcare System, West Haven Campus, 950 Campbell Avenue, West Haven, CT 06516.
