Mary M. McVeigh, 94, of Manchester died Wednesday April 8, 2009 at her home. A lifelong resident of Manchester, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Mary (Henderson) McVeigh. Mary had retired from Pratt & Whitney Aircraft and was a communicant of the Church of the Assumption. She loved travelling, gardening, crossword puzzles, the Red Sox and UConn sports. She is survived by her sister Helen M. O'Grady of Manchester, and several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her brothers John, Thomas, James and Charles McVeigh and her sister Ann Kennedy. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday (April 14th) at 10:30 am from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester with a Mass of Christian Burial 11 am at the Church of the Assumption Adams Street South, Manchester followed by burial in St. James Cemetery.
